A small-batch Oregon distillery
Abiqua Spirit Distillery is a small-batch Oregon distillery in Silverton, an hour south of Portland and a few miles east of Salem. We make three spirits: Silverton Vodka, Gallon House Gin, and Üla Orange Liqueur. Every bottle is distilled, blended, bottled, and labeled by hand on site. After ten years of doing it this way, the small details still matter to us more than the scale.
The name comes from Abiqua Creek, which runs through the forest behind the distillery. The water is cold and clear and quiet. So is the work.
Our gin distillery
Gallon House Gin is our Oregon craft gin. Juniper-forward, with rose, coriander, citrus, and a touch of cucumber. It is named for the historic Gallon House Bridge a few miles up the road, where bootleggers traded moonshine by the gallon during Prohibition. Gallon House Gin is hand-distilled in our copper still. Each batch is tasted, blended, and bottled before the next one starts. There is no automated line. The gin that leaves the building is the same gin we taste before it goes in the bottle.
Our vodka distillery
Silverton Vodka is an ultra-premium Oregon potato vodka. Clean and smooth with a creamy finish that sneaks up on you. It received the American Distilling Institute's Gold Medal in 2019 and won Silver at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Silverton Vodka is built on a high-grade potato base spirit, blended and finished in Silverton, then hand-bottled and labeled here. The result is an honest, smooth vodka built for sipping, mixing, and the cocktails you actually want to drink.
Our orange liqueur
Üla Orange Liqueur is built around bitter-orange peel and honey. Warm, bright, and a little dangerous, Üla is the orange liqueur we write recipes around. It is not a substitute for anything else in the bottle. It is what we use, and what we want you to use, when an orange liqueur is called for. How we work
We do not have a public tasting room. The distillery is a working production space, not a destination. Everything we make is finished, blended, bottled, capped, and labeled by hand on site. Ten years in, we have learned which decisions matter and which don't. The shape of the bottle matters less than the blend inside it. The marketing matters less than whether the person who opens it pours a second glass.
Small-batch is not a marketing word for us. It is the size of the operation. It is what lets one person taste every batch before it leaves the building.
